Miestuin - Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 20, 2026

Introduction

Miestuin is a garden planner app for iOS and iPadOS, developed by Michel Nieuwkamp. Your privacy is important. This policy explains what data the app uses and how it is stored.

Data storage

All your data is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit service. This includes:

Your data is synced between your own devices through iCloud. Only you have access to your data, unless you choose to share your garden (see below).

Garden sharing

You can share your garden with other people using Apple's CloudKit sharing. When you share a garden, the people you invite can view and edit the shared garden data. Sharing is entirely under your control: you decide who to invite and can stop sharing at any time.

Photos

Photos you take or import in the app are stored locally and synced via iCloud. Photos are not shared with the developer or any third party. When you share a garden, photos in that garden become visible to the people you shared it with.

No tracking or analytics

Miestuin does not:

Third-party services

The only third-party service used is Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) for data storage and sync. Apple's privacy policy applies to iCloud: apple.com/legal/privacy.

Data deletion

You can delete your data at any time by deleting gardens within the app, or by deleting the app from your device. Your iCloud data can be managed through your device's iCloud settings.
